  • Woolworths and Cricket Australia extend partnership until 2028

  • Nominations are now open for this year's Woolworths Cricket Blast First XI, with money-can’t-buy experiences on offer

7 October 2025: Woolworths and Cricket Australia today announced a three-year extension of their nationwide partnership, reinforcing their shared commitment to fostering the next generation of Australian cricketers.

The partnership will see Woolworths continue to support cricket from the grassroots up, remaining the naming rights sponsor of the Woolworths Cricket Blast program for kids, as well as the Official Supermarket Partner of Cricket Australia and the Australian Men's & Women’s International Cricket Teams.

Woolworths Cricket Blast is a program designed for boys and girls up to 10 years old, helping them build skills and confidence through fun, game-based activities. Since Woolworths became naming rights sponsor in 2018, more than 470,000 participants have registered for the program.

A key element of the partnership is the Woolworths Community Fund, which provides funding to local cricket clubs to increase participation for children who might not otherwise have access to the sport. To date, this initiative has helped more than 50,000 children play cricket for free through more than $2.5m in funding, ensuring more kids can get active and be part of their local cricket community.

The partnership also celebrates and rewards participants through the Woolworths Cricket Blast First XI program.

This First XI initiative recognises 11 young participants from across the country who demonstrate great passion for the game, strong skills, and excellent teamwork and leadership. Each of the winners will receive a money-can’t-buy experience at the KFC BBL Final on 25 January 2026.

Nominations are now open for this year's First XI, with all Woolworths Cricket Blast participants eligible. Parents, coaches, and community members are encouraged to nominate a deserving child for their outstanding participation, effort, and spirit on the field.

Cricket Australia’s Chief Commercial Officer, Ed Sanders, said: "We are thrilled to announce the continuation of our partnership with Woolworths for another three years. Their support for junior cricket participation, particularly through the Woolworths Cricket Blast Program, has been instrumental in the ongoing growth of our game.

“Woolworths' amazing support of our clubs and volunteers is making it easier and more fun for kids to get active and play cricket in a positive and social environment. We are grateful to Woolworths for helping to inspire the next generation of cricketers."

Sarah De La Mare, Woolworths’ Head of Community & Sponsorships, said: “At Woolies, we’re committed to inspiring the next generation of healthy, active kids, and community sport is a vital part of that.

“Seeing nearly half a million kids get involved in Woolworths Cricket Blast is fantastic, and through initiatives like the Community Fund, we're making the sport more accessible for all. We're especially excited to open nominations for this year's First XI and celebrate the brilliant kids who show great spirit and love for the game.”
