Wednesday 25 October 2023: Woolworths has recognised its top team members across the country, as part of its annual Team Member of the Year internal awards program, announcing 12 deserving national winners this month.

Woolworths employs more than 130,000 team members and received a record 7,000 entries to this year's awards.

Natalie Davis, Woolworths Supermarkets Managing Director said: “At the heart of our supermarkets are our dedicated store team members. Year after year, we come together to celebrate exceptional leadership, service, and camaraderie through our esteemed Team Member of the Year Awards.

“These awards shine a bright light on the extraordinary dedication and relentless effort displayed by our team members in stores who consistently embody our core values. Our team members care deeply for their customers and their communities every day across Australia.”

This year the team was impressed by the community initiatives led by team members.

Woolworths Riverside in Tasmania was announced as the winner of the Community Store Team of the Year award.

The team was recognised for supporting local schools, where it donates weekly breakfast boxes filled with fresh fruit and vegetables. These donations are also used for positive education programs focused on healthy eating. The Riverside store team also proudly supports the organisation and running of Agfest, the single-largest event in Tasmania.

On an individual level, team members were also recognised for going above and beyond for their communities. This includes the Care Leader of the Year winner, Nicole Rummell, Customer Service Assistant Department Manager at Woolworths Hervey Bay.
