Wednesday, 2 December 2015: Shoppers in the Nightcliff area will soon enjoy a revamped Woolworths supermarket as the $9 million, four month extension and refurbishment comes to completion next week.
The upgrades to the store in the Nightcliff Shopping Centre will provide enhanced choice and convenience for customers including improvements to the delicatessen, seafood, bakery and fruit & vegetable area, and a new meat servery. In addition, the extension has increased the store size by around 1,000 square metres.
The store will have new energy?efficient LED lighting, and the new aisle signage throughout the supermarket will help shoppers get around the store.
The supermarket entrance will be redesigned to allow easier customer access, and the layout for the checkout area has been improved and additional self?service checkouts installed to ensure customers can pay for their items quickly and get on with their day.
Woolworths Nightcliff Store Manager, Chris Quince, said the store is proud of the role it plays in the local community.
“We are delighted our local Woolies has been upgraded to create one of Australia’s most modern supermarkets. We apologise for any inconvenience the revamp may have caused, but the investment will deliver a supermarket local residents will enjoy shopping in.
“These improvements will enhance our customers’ shopping experience as they pick up fresh Australian fruit, vegetables and meat, inspiring meal ideas, a wide choice of healthy options and a huge range of grocery items at great prices,” Chris said.
Customers can visit the revamped store during the usual trading hours of 6.30am to 10pm, seven days a week.
The investment is part of a wider refurbishment program across Australia with a number of supermarkets undergoing significant upgrades or extensions this year.
