Thursday, 19 November 2020: Woolworths is expanding trading hours across its South Australian supermarkets*, offering at least 16 additional hours of trade for local communities over the next fortnight.
From Saturday 21 November-Sunday 6 December 2020, Woolworths’ trading hours will operate as follows:
Woolworths Supermarkets South Australia General Manager, Karl Weber said: “We’re expanding our opening hours over the next two weekends to help support physical distancing on our busiest days of trade.
“We’re grateful to the South Australian Treasurer for delivering this flexibility, so we can better meet the needs of the community through this period.
“Pleasingly, we’ve seen demand moderate today and we hope to see that trend continue.
“Our team members and supplier partners will continue working around the clock to restock our stores, so we ask customers to shop as they usually would and only buy what they need.
“We also encourage South Australians to be mindful of vulnerable members of the community who might need extra help at this time.
“We thank our customers for their patience and understanding as we work through these unsettling times together.”
For those who can’t visit a store, Woolworths has brought in additional delivery trucks from interstate to ramp up online capacity for local customers.
Mr Weber added: “Our Priority Assistance service offers dedicated online delivery windows for the most vulnerable in our community. We would encourage elderly customers, people with a disability, those with compromised immunity and people in mandatory self-isolation to register for the service on our website.”

Trading hours from 7 December 2020 on will be reassessed based on the South Australian Government’s directives and COVID-19 restrictions.
On Wednesday 18 November 2020, Woolworths announced a wide range of product limits to ensure more South Australian customers have fair access to key essentials.
* Woolworths Millicent is not included in the South Australian Government’s trading hours exemption and will operate usual hours.
