Thursday, 20 March 2014: Masters Rockhampton is planning a fun-filled weekend to celebrate its first birthday this weekend, Saturday, 22 March and Sunday, 23 March.

Since opening, Masters Rockhampton have employed more than 120 locals and have assisted customers in making their DIY and home improvement projects a reality.

Masters Rockhampton Store Manager Craig Dapkewitch said: “Customers love that we offer them with a complete service and are able to take their project from thought to finish.”

“Customers have particularly loved our flooring range and service, just one of the special offers we brought to the local region. I am really thrilled we have been able to install more than 200 hardwood and carpet floors for our customers.

Rockhampton Mayor, Margaret Strelow, will officially cut the store’s first birthday cake at 12pm on Saturday for staff and guests.

As part of the celebrations, Masters Rockhampton has committed to donate $500 of product each month to local community and school groups in need.

“Masters is proud to be part of the Rockhampton community and we are always looking for ways we can chip in and help the community grow,” said Depkewitch.

Masters Rockhampton has an ongoing relationship with the Yeppoon Scouts Club and has donated more than $1,000 worth of paint and the help of Masters store staff to revitalise the club’s ageing Scout Den.

“Our relationship with the Scouts is important to us, as is supporting various other community projects and groups. Local groups are very welcome to contact us about how we can assist them,” said Dapkewitch.

Customers are welcome to come and join in the fun on Saturday and Sunday with a number of community groups hosting sausage sizzles, live entertainment, competitions and games with Masters prizes and giveaways up for grabs.

There will be plenty of fun for the kids with kids workshops, face painting, an animal farm, a jumping castle and fairy floss over the weekend.

Special guests on the day include local dance group Pulse8 Dance Studio and cheer squad The CQ Thunder All Stars, local acrobat group QCAC, Rockhampton Men’s Shed and Yeppoon Scouts Club.

Masters Rockhampton is located at cnr Yaamba Road and River Rose Drive, North Rockhampton.
