At Woolworths Group, sustainability isn't an aspiration - it's how we do business. It sits at the heart of our purpose: creating better experiences together for a better tomorrow.

Today, we're proud to share our new Sustainability Plan - a clear, focused commitment to delivering real impact across five priority areas where we can make the biggest difference. We're not starting from scratch -  we're building on five years of progress, sharpening our focus, and committing to meaningful change across the areas that matter most.

Five Areas. Fourteen Goals. One Clear Direction.

Guided by evidence, stakeholder input, and five years of learning, our plan is built around five priority areas: climate & nature, waste & circularity, human rights, social impact, and health & nutrition. Across these, we've set 14 goals with defined timelines .

Sustainability is embedded in how we operate, with clear ownership across our business and integration into our core plans. We're also holding ourselves accountable through transparent progress reporting, so our team, partners, investors, and communities can see exactly where we stand.

Built on Real Progress

This plan is an evolution, not a reset. Our previous Sustainability Plan 2025 delivered over $2.6 billion in net societal benefit across five years (1), investing in initiatives that tackled hunger and food waste, promoted healthier choices, drove decarbonisation, addressed plastics and packaging, and strengthened human rights across our supply chain.

We're taking those learnings and using them to go further. Our commitment to safety and diversity and inclusion remains foundational - not aspirational goals, but non-negotiable expectations embedded in everything we do.

"Our Sustainability Plan reflects both ambition and pragmatism. We're focused on making real progress in areas that matter most, and by partnering together with purpose, we're working to create lasting positive change that strengthens our business and communities for the long term."

Simon Lowden

Chief Group Public Affairs, Communication and Sustainability Officer

Collective Action at Scale

No single business can solve these challenges alone. That's why we're partnering with our team, suppliers, customers, industry, and communities to create shared value. Our scale gives us the ability to amplify collective action - from sustainable sourcing across our supply chain to circular packaging solutions that shift entire systems.
