Australian agriculture's future depends on fresh thinking and bold ideas. That's why Woolworths has partnered with the National Farmers' Federation to create the AgriEmpower Scholarships – backing the next generation of agriculture leaders with the support they need to innovate and grow. Applications are now open for the second round.
We're looking for passionate people aged 25-40 with real commitment to agriculture's future – whether they're on-farm, in agribusiness, or anywhere along the supply chain. Each $20,000 scholarship gives recipients 18 months to invest in professional development, turn their ideas into impact, and expand their networks.
Woolworths is investing $400,000 over four years in this scholarship partnership with the National Farmers' Federation to support 20 emerging leaders – backing the people doing the work to strengthen Australian agriculture.
The first group of AgriEmpower recipients are already making their mark. Take Liam Jess, a young Victorian farmer who's using his scholarship to trial precision agriculture tools across his broadacre crops – from drone technology for soil health assessment to site-specific fertiliser application. Scholars use their funding for courses, conferences, industry connections, and new skills that strengthen the broader agriculture community.
Think you could be one of them? If you're aged 25-40 with a passion for agriculture's future, we encourage you to apply. Know someone who'd be perfect? Share this opportunity with them.
By backing innovation and fresh perspectives in agriculture, this partnership supports the long-term thinking that keeps farmers competitive, regional communities vibrant, and quality Australian food on tables across the country.
Applications close Tuesday, 3 March 2026.
