Comments from Woolworths Supermarkets Managing Director, Natalie Davis:
“We know it’s an unsettling time for many of our customers across Greater Sydney.
“In line with the health advice, it’s vital we do all we can to limit our time in the community during the lockdown.
“We have a range of digital planning tools and online shopping services, which can help Sydneysiders get all their essentials while also reducing time in store.
“It’s not often you’ll hear a retailer urge customers to spend less time shopping, but that’s exactly what we all need to do right now.
“If you need to visit a store, please be kind to each other and our team, sign in with the government QR code and, wherever possible, have just one household member do the shopping.
“Our team members have and will continue to work very hard to serve our community as quickly and safely as possible.”
Three ways to cut time in-store
Build a digital list and use product finder in Woolworth app
Our supermarkets typically stock more than 15,000 items. To help customers quickly and easily navigate their local store, the Woolworths app lists the aisle and location of every item in every store.
If you build a list on our website or in the app before leaving the house, you can sort the list aisle by aisle in the app and save time looking for products in-store. You can add items to your list via a product search or from recipes on the site.
Use Q-Tracker to avoid queuing and busy periods
Q-Tracker provides real-time data across all Woolworths supermarkets on any queuing that may be in effect to support capacity limits.
Q-Tracker also displays each store’s trading patterns by hour of day based on recent transactions. This allows customers to track when their store is at its busiest or quietest day by day, hour by hour, so they can plan their shop around the peaks
By helping customers plan when and where they shop before they leave home, Q-Tracker makes it easier to avoid busy periods, save time and shop with health and safety in mind.
Order direct to boot pick up
National: We encourage customers to make use of our contactless direct to boot pick up service, which is offered at more than 620 of our supermarkets across Australia.
Customers simply let us know when they’re on the way to the store or confirm when they’ve arrived via the Woolworths app or SMS link and our team will place the order in the customers’ boot for a contactless collection. Customers can check if the direct to boot service is available in their area here.
Woolworths also offers Community Pick Up, which allows a loved one to collect your online order on your behalf to drop at your door.
