On Saturday 28 October, team members from Woolworths stores in NSW and the ACT celebrated with their family and friends at the annual Woolworths Charity Ball at Rosehill Gardens, in aid of Variety, the children's charity.
Woolworths stores in NSW/ACT fundraise for Variety year round, and the charity ball is an annual celebration of the outcomes achieved for kids.
On the night, a cheque for $905,000 was presented to David Sexton, CEO Variety NSW/ACT, which was funds raised by the Woolworths team in just the last two months.
Since 2014, Woolworths has helped Variety support more than 130,000 children. Funds raised provide Sunshine Coaches and modified equipment so that children can enjoy playgrounds and the beach, as well as medical supplies and communication technology. Our fundraising helps kids be kids, by supporting their independence, enjoyment and self-esteem.
Michelle White, NSW/ACT General Manager said "In the past 12 months, we have raised more than $2 million for Variety. The dedication and support of our team, and the generosity of our customers, means we can really make a difference in the community."
