Woolworths Group is proud to be the first retail organisation to be recognised with Gold tier status at the 2018 Australian LGBTI Inclusion Awards.
The award is also incredibly significant for Woolworths Group's 2020 Corporate Responsibility Strategy, achieving the AWEI Gold tier target two years ahead of schedule.
The event recognises Australia’s top organisations for LGBTI inclusion and celebrates leaders, individuals and networks that have made a significant impact on LGBTI inclusion within their workplaces.
Over the past year a great deal of work was been undertaken to progress LGBTI inclusion by Woolworths senior leadership and the Proud at Woolworths Group team network. This included an organisation-wide policy review, hosting educational LGBTI events, holding training sessions for team members and leaders, entering into a sponsorship agreement with Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras and supporting marriage equality.
At Woolworths Group creating an inclusive culture is a priority, and we want our team members to feel free to bring their whole selves to work without fear of prejudice or discrimination.
"So much work has gone into creating a strong LGBTI strategy that is all inclusive and supportive. Even though we got the Gold tier Award, I know we can do even more" said Chelsea Mcphail Rosenberg, Woolworths Store Manager and co-chair of the Proud at Woolworths network.
"We have big plans for the future, so it's a very exciting time" said Chelsea.
